All you need to know about Raw Talent Academy

#Fresh

A fresh approach to Sales Recruitment

We pride ourselves at Raw Talent Academy on the fact we look past degrees, qualifications and career histories to see the attributes required to be a sales superstar. Founded by Apprentice winner Lee McQueen, we develop internal sales academies for both SMEs and Corporate businesses providing them the perfect vehicle not only to grow short-term revenues but also to address the balance into long term staffing plans. We encourage organisations to look at the wider talent we have in the UK, not just graduates, and at the same time encourage new talent to make a career move which benefits both them and the businesses seeking their next generation of superstars!

Alongside the Academy we also offer a range of additional services from sales training, sales workshops, mentoring, event hosting and away days including Beat the Boardroom!

About Lee

What’s my background?

Lee McQueen & Lord Sugar

‘Raw Talent’ himself, Lee has had a successful career in both Recruitment and Advertising, went on to win ‘The Apprentice’ and now runs a successful business to find and develop ‘Raw Talent’. Speaking in 2010 when Lee launched the business he said, “Having previously worked in Recruitment and spent 11 years in this industry, I felt the industry was overlooking huge talent pool.

“After working my way through the business, I ended my career at Capita as the Sales and Delivery Manager, heading up the IT recruitment division. On leaving (Jan 2008), the division turned over £32million and had around 30 staff; 22 of which were revenue generating. I also set up an academy within my division, designed to recruit staff with limited experience and using strong training and development methods to develop them into fully fledged sales consultants deployed within the business.

“In 2008, I beat 20,000 candidates to land a role with Lord Sugar by winning The Apprentice!

“I learnt so much from the gruelling 12 week process and to win it was outstanding. To set out your goals and achieve them is incredibly rewarding.

“The Apprentice tests you in every way, stamina, business acumen, team work, confidence it was a great experience. Most recently I set up along with Simon Sugar a business for Lord Sugar called Amscreen, a digital media business. As Development Director I was responsible for the development and integration of the business both commercially and internally to enable Amscreen to become the UK market leader in digital signage.

“I was primarily involved with building a team of sales professionals and the development of new and existing customers for both the site acquisition and the advertising sales for the business; ensuring that Amscreen grew the network and the media that is displayed on it. Today my passion is about helping others to realise their potential and provide them with a platform to go on and achieve in business. Having recruited sales people for most of my career I’m convinced that every business should have a Sales Academy.”
