After being one of three candidates selected from the Harrow College Employability Academy run by Raw Talent Academy (RTA), I started my internship in a very interesting way. I was very excited and eager to showcase and develop my skills as an intern in a growing business. I am expecting to learn and acquire business knowledge and skills that I need to be able to secure a job in the future.

As a first project I was asked to lead and plan a smartphone app that would market and promote RTA to students like myself and individuals between the ages of 16-24. The way my fellow intern Shamila and I approached this first task was with a great deal of detail on what the app would consist of, and also how it would be marketed.

After presenting the project, we received very good feedback from the marketing team at RTA, proving that the time and effort that we’ve put into the task was definitely worthwhile! I’m definitely getting lots of experience as an intern as I hoped.

Harrow CollegeThe opportunity of being an intern with a growing Sales Recruitment & Training business is giving me a further insight of the business world where sales and recruitment play such an important role. Earning this internship is definitely what I need to help start my career in such a competitive market, as few employers hire individuals like myself with little or no experience. With this amazing experience, I hope to learn from my managers and co-workers, not just about sales and recruitment but also to learn from their experiences.

I feel like this is a great chance of working closely with this team of professionals is definitely the stepping stone that I need to start a career on a professional level. The work I have completed in the first few days of my internship have been related to marketing, development and administration. I am gaining experience that will help me perform more challenging tasks in the future. Following these 4 weeks I would like to get a part time job in a related area as I am returning to Harrow College in September to complete my course in Information Technology.
