A snapshot of Raw Talent Academy’s first ever Academy where 8 candidates were offered positions at the end of the Audition Day

Bristol based Resource Solutions Group (RSG) felt they had exhausted their traditional internal recruitment process and turned to Raw Talent Academy to find 8 trainee recruitment consultants who would not only have the skills required to excel at RSG, but also fit with their culture. By visiting RSG’s offices and interviewing some of their star performers Raw Talent Academy were able to get under their skin and source candidates who would be a perfect fit.

The Academy attracted over 500 applications from across the region with the number whittled down to 40 candidates invited to the Audition Day. At around 7pm, at the end of a long, gruelling day, eight people were offered the jobs. The range of successful candidates varied from a recent 18-year-old school leaver and graduates, to someone with four years’ service in the police force.

RSG’s Managing Director Nick Walrond commented on the Academy and Audition Day saying; “You get to see a broader spectrum of the individual through this day assessment. This process was very different in terms of our normal recruiting. We’d usually have two to three interviews to hire a new joiner. It was a day I would repeat and heartily recommend to others to do likewise. It threw up a few surprises candidates who wouldn’t necessarily have shone in our standard interview process. We were after the right mindset, discipline, determination and dedication.”

Raw Talent Academy Director Lee McQueen added; “It was a great day with a great outcome. Recruitment is my passion. It was the reason I started out in business in the first place. I wanted to showcase the raw talent  hire on the behaviour and attitude rather than a CV. As an organisation we also learnt a lot from this Academy with Attendance not dropping below 86% since and an average retention level of 93%”
